EXTENSION AND OUTREACH ACTIVITIES

Extension and Outreach Activities

At Sree Ayyappa College, Eramallikkara, we firmly believe in the holistic development of our students — nurturing them not only as academically sound individuals but also as socially responsible citizens. Our institution is deeply committed to community engagement, sustainability, and social development, and organizes a wide range of extension and outreach activities aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Our outreach initiatives are designed to serve the local community of Eramallikkara and its neighboring areas, addressing key concerns such as healthcare, hygiene, environmental protection, energy management, and social well-being. With carefully planned actions and active student participation, we aim to instill a sense of civic responsibility, compassion, and awareness among our students.

Key Extension Initiatives

Blood Donation Drives

One of our most impactful social initiatives is the regular organization of blood donation camps in collaboration with hospitals and blood banks. Our students and staff actively participate, understanding the life-saving importance of this noble cause. These events not only support emergency healthcare needs but also help promote awareness about voluntary blood donation in the community.

Environmental and Energy Conservation Activities

Sree Ayyappa College has taken significant steps to promote sustainable environmental practices and energy efficiency on campus and beyond. As part of our energy conservation measures, we have installed solar panels to reduce dependency on non-renewable energy sources and lower our carbon footprint. Students are encouraged to adopt eco-friendly habits like minimizing electricity use and embracing energy-efficient appliances.

Our Bhoomithra Sena Club, in collaboration with NSS and Unnat Bharath Abhiyan (UBA), leads tree plantation drives, clean-up campaigns, and plastic-free campus initiatives. These efforts reflect our commitment to environmental stewardship and green living.

Anti-Drug Awareness Campaigns

Recognizing the dangers of substance abuse, our college regularly conducts anti-drug awareness programs. These campaigns include talks by healthcare professionals, student-led skits, awareness rallies, and peer group discussions. They aim to educate students about the harmful effects of drug addiction and promote healthy, purpose-driven lifestyles.

Anti-Drug Awareness
National Service Scheme (NSS) & Community Engagement

Our active NSS unit plays a vital role in addressing social issues through awareness programs on topics such as health, hygiene, sanitation, gender equality, digital literacy, and waste management. NSS volunteers lead community development projects, including support to underprivileged communities, health check-up camps, and educational outreach.

The college also participates in Unnat Bharath Abhiyan (UBA) and proudly contributed to the Solar Ambassador Project in association with the Electronics Outreach Society, conducting impactful workshops across the state and earning widespread appreciation.
